Additional checks
The GMC may conduct additional checks as part of the registration
process, including checks on your fitness to practice and your
medical knowledge and skills. This may involve completing an
assessment such as the Professional and Linguistic Assessments
Board (PLAB) test or providing evidence of your recent clinical
practice.
Registration fee
Next you need to pay the applicable registration fee to the GMC. The
fee structure can vary depending on the type of registration and any
additional assessments required.
Registration decision
Once the GMC has reviewed your application and supporting
documents, they will make a decision on your registration. If
approved, you will be issued with a GMC registration number.
ID check & induction
You will then be invited to complete an identity check. This needs to
done within 6-months of receiving the invitation. As a newly
registered doctor, you may also need to complete an induction
process before you can begin practicing in the UK.
