Overview
The Cellular Pathology department provides a specialist reporting service, and you will
be expected to join two or more of the current specialist reporting teams working on the
Southampton General Hospital site. Support within the following specialist areas is
needed:
• Dermatopathology
• Gynaecological Pathology (to include lead colposcopy pathologist)
• Hepatobiliary
• Gastrointestinal Pathology (including specialist reporting of neuroendocrine tumours),
• Haematopathology.
Other areas of need which could be accommodated include non-gynae cytology,
uropathology and delivery of adult post-mortems.
There are two posts available, which will support increasing service demand and to
support dropped PAs from existing job plans and succession planning.
The specialist area and proportion of work for the post can be flexible depending on
service requirements and your individual interests. A job plan will be agreed with the prior
to taking up the posts, and the work rota will be determined by discussion between
yourself, existing consultants, and the departmental Clinical Leads.
